What is Resin Bound?

Resin bound refers to a type of surfacing solution that combines aggregates, such as stones added with a clear resin to create a smooth, durable, and permeable surface. This type of surface is widely used for driveways, pathways, patios, and other outdoor areas due to its aesthetic appeal and functional benefits. A resin bound system allows for the water to drain through, preventing puddling, and to reduce surface water. The good thing about having Resin Bound is that it is resistant against weather conditions, UV rays and general wear and tear. You will require with Resin Bound to do occasional maintenance, as with any surface to remove debris and to prevent weed growth. Other than that, it does not require much looking after. The great thing about Resin Bound is that it offers a smooth surface, so it’s great for driveways, walking on, biking on and also another a great added benefit, is that it can offer a solution for wheelchair access to homes and properties and any other pedestrian access.

When having a resin bound driveway, path, patio, or balcony it is important to have an experienced team. We have been landscaping for 25 years + and laying resin for the past 9 years. Resin is still quite new to the market but it’s Eco friendly, permeable, non slip, easy to maintain and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Before laying the resin bound surface, the following preparation is very important:-

making good the existing surface
all the cracks will need to be filled with a resin filler
any large surface area in dis-repair will need to be reinstated
pressure wash the surface
primer the base
to lay the resin bound surface
